Product Properties and Applications:

HIPS resin is a thermoplastic polymer made of styrene (SM) and polybutadiene (RB). It exhibits excellent mechanical properties, processability, surface gloss and colorability, so it is widely used in electrical & electronics, automotive and general consumer goods.

By adjusting the proportion of styrene and polybutadiene components, especially the particle size and distribution range of PBL.
We can produce PS grades including general purpose, high impact, high gloss, weather-resistant ESCR and flame retardant grades.

Features of Prepolymerizer:

A well-designed reactor structure enables more precise control over molecular weight and its distribution, rubber particle size and rubber grafting during HIPS polymerization. It also helps increase production capacity and reduce energy consumption.

The built-in unique structure and special agitator of vertical plug-flow reactor enable the material flow to approximate ideal plug-flow, with strong heat exchange capacity, so the temperature of each section of the reactor can be precisely controlled. The reactor is divided into four temperature control zones. Its molecular weight distribution can be accurately adjusted according to product requirements to improve product quality.

1. The polymer coming from the reactor contains a certain amount of unreacted monomers, oligomers, solvents and other impurities. Our company has developed a unique heating flash devolatilization device. Its most prominent technical advantage lies in the heating devolatilization system. The uniquely designed heating flash evaporator can heat materials to 240℃ and complete flash evaporation within several seconds. The flash evaporation completed in a short time can greatly improve product quality, and residual monomer in products can be lower than 300 ppm.

2. The tail gas recovery unit uses the thermal energy of steam to separate oligomers in recovered liquid in a timely manner, which can also improve product quality.
