Tubular heat exchanger
Shell and tube heat exchanger is one of the most widely used heat exchangers in chemical and alcohol industries. It mainly consists of shell, tube sheet, heat exchange tubes, head, baffle plates and other components. Materials can be selected as mild carbon steel, red copper or stainless steel as required. During heat exchange, one fluid enters through the connecting nozzle of the head, flows inside the tubes and exits from the outlet nozzle on the other end of the head; this flow path is called tube side. The other fluid enters via the shell nozzle and discharges from another nozzle on the shell, which is known as shell side of the shell and tube heat exchanger.
